When breaking away to discover music for himself, he was intrigued with the lyrics of hip-hop, the color of jazz and classical, and the feel-good music of the 70's. A lot of these early influences are prevalent in his own music and lyrics as he combines real life and humor together with colorful and rhythmically funky acoustic guitar chords.      Stop in and join us for an after dinner drink or any one of our frozen coffees. The Habitat for Humanity of Ellis County ReStore is located at the south end of The Mall in Hays. The entrance is an outside door on the west side of the building. Donations of building materials, furniture and appliances are accepted during business hours. A ReStore is a facility that supports the services provided by its local affiliate. The income generated from the project goes specifically toward expanding the building program of the local affiliate.

In addition to presenting regular concerts featuring the masterworks of orchestral literature, the Symphony Orchestra hosts more than 200 high school students at the annual Dorian Orchestra Festival. Baldwin conducts both the Chamber and Symphony orchestras at Luther.  Before joining the Luther faculty, he held conducting positions at Central Washington University, the Brevard (N.C.) Music Center and with the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras.  He received his formal training in string pedagogy as a teacher in the nationally acclaimed University of Texas String Project.Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the world with seven choirs, three bands, three orchestras, two jazz bands and nearly 1,000 student musicians. Luther’s students perform in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. More than 350 music majors study music theory/ear training, history, education, composition, church music and performance.

Ladies, this one's for us!> It’s that time of year again. The Leadership Advantage: Kansas Women’s Leadership Conference is underway and gearing up for another exciting event. This state wide conference is brought to you by the students, faculty and staff of Fort Hays State University. For the first time, the conference will be held on the beautiful FHSU Campus, and will be focusing on issues ranging from financial management to how to bring humor back into your life. Break out sessions will emphasize the many different ‘hats’ that most women wear everyday. This all-inclusive conference has been designed for women of all ages and professions and will provide a new insight on each person’s leadership potential. This event will be held on March 26th, 2010 to close out the celebration of Women’s History Month. Conference breakout sessions will be hosted in multiple buildings located in the main campus of FHSU and are handicapped accessible. It will conclude in time for participants to enjoy the Soiree de la femme: A Celebration of Women (formerly Eagle Radio Ladies Fair) which begins at 5:30 in the Fort Hays State University Memorial Union.
